December 29, 2010

It's been a really long & exhausting week moving over Christmas weekend. I've also been a little sick the past two days so decided to put a hold on our unpacking to enjoy a night with my husband and pups. I have to say, I absolutely love having a warm cozy fireplace for the first time. It makes for a perfect night, along with one of our favorite dinners ready to go into the oven.

(chicken, potatoes, spinach, and mozzarella)

And although Christmas was much different for us this year, we were still blessed to have a little Christmas tree in our new home thanks to a sweet friend.

30 weeks (and 5 days). I can't believe it! The countdown is really on.

I feel like we got to this point so quickly & now the next few weeks will be here and gone so fast. We will be snuggling baby Isaac before we know it. Especially since January is going to be a really busy month for us with appointments, baby shower, weekly birth classes, our anniversary, maternity pictures, birthdays & weddings, still getting settled into our new home. & setting up baby things:) We are waiting on the little misters crib and bedding to arrive and will have his nursery painted this week!

Isaac has one handsome papa bear.
I'm so anxious to meet our little mister, I can't wait to see my two boys living and loving together. Matt is the greatest soul I've ever known and Isaac really does have so much in store for him.
But I'm really trying to just focus on enjoying these last 10 weeks of pregnancy (although I can.not.wait. to wear jeans again. I probably miss my jeans more than my sleep) and also, after 5 years together and 2 years of marriage, I'm soaking in the last ten weeks that it will ever just be Matt and I. Such a wild thought.

28 weeks

Get ready for photo overload.

A few outfits from Daddy & I. We've been collecting tiny clothes since finding out we are having a little mister. The above is a special one to us that we ordered before knowing the gender.

(& two outfits from Aunt Lynzi)

I'm so excited to be having a little boy, can't stop smiling at the thought.
12 weeks to go!

27 weeks

(27 weeks last friday)

& a reversible diaper bag.

I knit this as an extra diaper bag for our boy.. so I'm pretty proud of it, little flaws and all!
I still want to add a few more details but I've learned a lot from this project. One thing being to listen to your husbands combining method rather than the professionals video =] Who would have thought?
Now I'm on a mission to finish my babes little blanket before we get busy with the nursery at the end of the month.

(My super fancy 26 week bump photo, late as usual)

Oh, this has been a wild year. So many changes, so much good.
Our Thanksgiving break was great. Plenty of good food, family, games, relaxing, date time.. But I can't believe we're about to start December already! Each week we get closer and closer to meeting our little boy. Christmas will be a little different for us this year as we are potentially buying our first home if everything flows smoothly but won't be moving in until a few days after Christmas, so the entire month will be mainly living out of boxes like the last couple weeks have been for us. I am so stoked about what's in store for our little family. We'll spend this Christmas dreaming of having Isaac with us and next year we'll be experiencing it.
I can't wait for the move and setting up his nursery, we've been picking out paint, shopping, and doing lots of planning for our little love.
So much to be thankful for <3

25 weeks

25 weeks.
This past week I've had so many strangers ask about the bump in public, for the first time.

[Excuse the hair, a night out around a fire] The sweet husband bought me a pair of TOMS this weekend & my gosh, they are extra comfortable. It hasn't crossed my mind until now but I had to go up a shoe size.. swollen feet??
I'm so anxious for this little guy to get here. We met a brand new baby boy in the family tonight and it made me even more impatient for Isaac to arrive. <3

This has to be the most gorgeous diaper bag I've ever seen! I'm in love. But with a price tag of $349 I really can't agree that it deserves to carry around poopy diapers.

24 weeks & a sneak peak

24 week bump!

[He's beginning to wonder what's going on in there]

<3
I'm working on a little knitting project, I'm really excited about this little gem of mine and can't wait see how it comes out. I should be posting an update with a picture of it sometime in the next week! I love knitting & have so many potential projects lined up, but for now I'm a full time working lady until our boy comes so my crafting time is really limited.
Here is a little sneak peak at the two colors I'm using...
Black & Wheat
I absolutely love all Lion Brand yarn. This chunky yarn comes out so nice with size 10 needles. It's really thick and heavy! The other week I ventured out and tried another brand of yarn, after wasting so much of my time on that project I had to unravel it because the yarn was so inconsistent and would go from thick to very thin- making the knit look terrible. So I tossed it in my little yarn collection & went back to the faithful Lion Brand. It gets a little pricey, but I never go in Hobby Lobby without their 40% off coupon. Project update coming soon:)

An Adoption Tale

A sweet friend of mine & her husband are in the process of adopting their first child, a baby boy from Ethiopia! We have been trying to squeeze in the time to make an etsy shop happen for the last couple of months and with the reality of officially launching it still a little ways off, we decided we would start listing some of our handmade items with all proceeds going to the adoption. The cost of adoption is outrageous & they want to bring this little guy home as quickly as possible, as any mom is anxious to meet her baby!

The first items we will list are quilted coasters. These ones were made by Emily but we will be making more patterns in packs of four and six. The packs of four in these two patterns are available now for $7 so leave a comment or send an email if interested. More items to come soon, and you can also make donations directly through her blog. Please consider blessing this family.

A Day in Pictures

We spent our day enjoying the cool weather outdoors. Pups playing, husband grilling, and our sweet nephew getting into anything he could find. I also squeezed in a little nap time and knitting. I love this time of year!

& here is my 23 week bump. My clothing selection is becoming really limited, it's hard to stretch most of my shirts far enough to cover my belly.. but I'm getting excited about taking our actual maternity pictures booked for next year!
