Pumpkin Patch

We took Isaac to a small pumpkin patch yesterday.
My sweet boy loved every minute of checking out the pumpkins and grass!
I'm thinking we will visit a bigger one next year when Isaac will be old enough to more enjoy pony rides, corn mazes, and hay rides ;)

I love Fall! Just can't wait for the cool weather to stick around.

Sunday Stroll

Sundays are usually lazy, relaxing days for our little family.
We go to church and then cook lunch and lounge together before starting a new week the next day.

Yesterday evening we decided to take Isaac on a walk so that we could all get out of the house for a while. This kid loves being outside! It usually makes for a really good & long nap afterwards.

We put him in a swing but he wasn't all that impressed ;)
He was so sleepy when we left that I couldn't catch a smile out of my always giggling boy, and he was passed out a few short minutes after we put him back in the stroller.

We took the long way home and ended up being swarmed by mosquitos, we had to start jogging at one point while swatting them away from Isaac until we reached our house! The mosquitos were brutal, but it was still a fun little walk up until that point.

Also, we love our bumbleride! There is a lot that I miss about our city mini, but my boy is picky and seems to be happier in this stroller.

Motherhood

(photo from a lunch date with my boy)

This kid has changed my world in every good way possible.
The journey to becoming a parent was so full of joy, but also carried so many unknowns. And while there is much that we want to teach our son, I don't ever want to hold him to any standards, I just want to love him in whatever path he chooses in life. I can't wait to experience the adventures this little boy is going to take us on.
The dreams of watching him grow and experiencing life in his own way is more than I can handle sometimes. Nothing can prepare you for the joy that being a parent brings.
I wake up each morning to a curious brown eyed boy anxiously waiting to nurse. I watch him grow and learn before my eyes. There's literally nothing that compares to being a mother. And oh my gosh, what a blessing a happy baby is. I was so in love with the name Isaac because of the meaning "laughter" and each day this little mister confirms that it was the perfect choice for him.
My heart bursts with love for this boy & my loving husband.
I thank God for such a blessed life each day, even on the tough days.
Our life isn't at all perfect, but I completely believe that life is what you make of it.

Happy Friday!

Baby on the move

My little love has been scooting himself all over the place lately. He goes straight for the things he shouldn't be into, so I'm already working on baby-proofing our home. Isaac is defiantly impressed with his new little skill, and it makes for much more active and tiring days for the both of us! I used to be able to sit him in the play area while I switch the laundry or wash the dishes, but those days are coming to an end. These videos are short & awkwardly quiet clips of my boy in action. (Isaac slobbered my phone so the mic is sort of broken)

I love this kid. So much.

Isaac: 7 months

His first taste of food!
We celebrated my baby boy's seven month birthday this past saturday, he had his first taste of food and loved it! Matt and I have been talking about this day for months. Wondering what Isaac would think of food, would he like it or not? I bought a baby bullet a few months ago so that we could make and store fresh baby food for him. I have only used it once but so far I really love it! I can't wait to make all sorts of yummy things for Isaac to try.
We decided to wait a little longer than typical to start feeding solids since there really isn't a rush with him being breastfed. I was still a little hesitant when the day came and considered putting it off for another month, but I knew my babe was ready ;)
Here are some photos from the big day!

(Busted diggin' through mama's bag while waiting)

My little man was a total champ, the first few bites he had a straight face and was totally acting like this wasn't his first meal. It was such a fun and special experience!

Towards the end we got a few of these faces ;)

Other than starting solids, Isaac has changed so much over the past month. He has such an awesome little personality forming. The kid keeps me laughing all.day.long.
He is all over the place! I sit him down with a few toys and he immediately flops to his belly and makes his way across the living room. I feel like every time I turn around I'm having to take a dog toy away from him or something else he shouldn't be into, and he isn't even crawling yet! Goodness.
He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back & forth like he's getting ready to take off crawling. He also lifts himself up on his hands and toes and just looks down at
his body, amazed at his little trick. Silly boy!
Isaac totally loves being outside. We take a few minutes throughout the day to sit in the back yard, and go for walks a few times a week. We usually walk to the park, too soon he will be ready
to stay and play!

So much love between these two!

Happy seven months my little love!
